Here’s our list of continued improvements and refinements to the recently-launched Simian 5.
New Features & Enhancements
- Removed “Save Button” when editing sent reels; now they auto save.
- New: Reel Report feature allows reports to be run on categories as well as credits. Useful for measuring or tracing reels for directors editors, etc.
- New: Added a Default Branding Option for users with multiple brands, so they can designate which brand will be the default brand.
- Changed Title Safe Mask (a.k.a. Aspect Mask) to 90 percent, to adhere to new video standards.
- New: Added ability to disable the Aspect Mask option on client-facing presentations.
- Modified Classic Reel template so details panel won’t appear if there are no credits.
- Added a Prompt in the event the server is busy while creating shortlinks, so you can immediately retry creating link.
- Replaced player volume icon with a speaker icon on the video player.
- Added File Locking capability to the Projects API.
- Added Retina Display for logos on Reel Presentations.
- Added “category” name to delete options in Categories & Credits. when deleting a category.
- Reduced thumbnail size on the Projects list screen.
- Moved Help Center link to the User Profile Menu.
- Changed the label in the “Client Upload from Description to Internal Notes.
Bug Fixes
- Fixed in Analytics, where video duration was not setting properly.
- Fixed exporting CSV files in Reel Reports on Windows 10.
- Fixed square videos on Gallery View reel presentations.
- Fixed shortlink preview button in projects with multiple brandings.
- Bug fixes with iPad detection.
