Playing WMV Files on a Mac

In order to play a WMV (Windows Media Video) file on a Mac, you must download an application that supports playback of that file type as this file type is only native to the Windows Operating System

The most compatible recommended application for playback of WMV files is a program called "Flip for Mac". It's a free application and it is a simple download and installation. After you have installed this to your Mac, you will be able to view WMV files. Flip for Mac will play the WMV files using the Quick Time Player if viewing locally or the Quick Time plugin if viewing in your browser.
